Types of Chiropractors

Mixing Chiropractor
A mixing chiropractor uses physical therapy, diet and nutrition in addition to traditional chiropractic techniques. Mixing chiropractors also commonly use ultrasound and electrotherapy.

Reform Chiropractor
Reform chiropractors use touch and manipulation to identify and treat osteoarthritis, painful joints, and other musculoskeletal problems. They do not focus on subluxations (displaced vertebrae), and are aligned more with medical and osteopathic physicians than with traditional chiropractors.

Straight Chiropractor
Straight chiropractors focus solely on correcting vertebral subluxations, in which one or more spinal segments become misaligned and alter nerve function. Straight chiropractors believe subluxations are the primary risk factor for almost any disease. Straight chiropractors believe that improving the alignment of the vertebrae increases the means of communication between the brain and the rest of the body.
