Christopher L Lavoie, Chiropractor in Wethersfield
“Years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever. I played varsity football at Kingswood-Oxford for three years. Throughout that time I suffered many injuries, especially to my neck. By senior year, I was suffering from DAILY neck pain. It got so bad, I was unable to sit for longer than 20 minutes without propping my head up with pillows. Plus, I was getting headaches almost every day. My medical doctor recommended Ibuprofen, which did not help much. Otherwise, basically, he told me I would have to live with it. And I did, for over two years.

“I have created the "Spinal Resonance" technique as a light-touch, energy-release modality which prepares the spine for ultra effective structural adjustments. This work helps release progressive emotional tension within the body, which is the cause of many acute and chronic problems. I also have a specialty in lower back and neck disc herniation difficulties, as well as the correction and management of scoliosis (spinal curvature) using varying traction, light-touch and toggle-recoil techniques to promote healing. Added specialty in the holistic care of children, and lecture nationally on natural health care and the dangers of vaccines;

“My 25 years of experience has taught me that not one therapy can do it all. As a nation we have become to dependent on pharmaceuticals. As a result health in the U.S is deteriorating. It took most people a lifetime to get to the state they're in today. Health can't be achieved in a couple of days or weeks even. But, with a unique blend of therapies, working together, we can help you with you acute or chronic pain, poor health and deteriorating quality of life.

Chiropractic in Connecticut (CT) - is it right for me?
Connecticut (CT) Chiropractors specialize in the interactions between our nerves, muscles and skeleton and their effects on our general health. They diagnose problems and use manual therapy, including joint adjustment and manipulation, to prevent and treat them.

Many people who seek Connecticut (CT) chiropractic care do so for help with back pain, especially lower back pain, neck pain and headache. Spinal adjustment in Connecticut (CT) or chiropractic adjustment is the most common method of treatment--it refers to the manual adjustment by the chiropractor of the three-joint complex at the base of your spine with sufficient force to create a sensation of 'release', increasing the joint's range and reducing pain.

A treatment plan may involve one or more manual adjustments. Many chiropractors in Connecticut (CT) also incorporate nutritional counseling, exercise or rehabilitation into the treatment plan.
How is a Chiropractor licensed?
The Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) in Connecticut (CT) must complete four academic years at a school accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education, as well as a one-year internship at an outpatient clinic owned and run by a chiropractic college. They are tested and certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and licensed by the state in which they practice. To maintain licensure in most states, practitioners must complete a certain number of continuing education hours annually.

There are several schools of chiropractic adjustment techniques, although most chiropractors mix techniques from several schools. Some Applied Kinesiologists in Connecticut (CT) are qualified as Chiropractors.
